The submission of applications for the professional experience program for 10,000 unemployed young people in Attica and Central Macedonia starts tomorrow

The following announcement was issued by the Press Office of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs:

More than 10 programs of the Public Employment Service (DYPA) will go ahead during the year, creating a total of over 86,000 new jobs. One of them starts tomorrow. This is the "Program for gaining professional experience for 10,000 unemployed young people, 18-29 years old, in the Regions of Attica and Central Macedonia".

Specifically, 6,500 young unemployed people in Attica and 3,500 in Central Macedonia will have the opportunity to upgrade their qualifications and prepare for joining the labor market through this job subsidy program. The program lasts 7 months and DYPA will pay the beneficiaries a monthly compensation equal to the legal minimum net salary (with full insurance contributions), as well as a ratio of holiday gifts and leave allowance. The submission of applications starts tomorrow, Friday, June 3, at 12.00.

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Kostis Hatzidakis, announced the start of the program during his visit today to the Greek cosmetics production and packaging company VERAL SA, together with the Governor of DYPA, Spyros Protopsaltis. This company maintains long-term cooperation with DYPA, creating several new jobs, a significant part of which is subsidized by DYPA programs and mainly concerns young people.

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Kostis Hatzidakis, stated: "This program is very useful for both businesses and young people. He has a very strong subsidy, equal to the minimum wage for 7 months and every young person who is currently looking for a job should find out, especially in the Regions of Attica and Central Macedonia. Talking today in this business with both the owners of the company and the employees who have used similar programs so far, it is clear the added value and usefulness of these programs ".

The Commander of DYPA, Spyros Protopsaltis, stated: "Another action with an emphasis on young people starts tomorrow, giving the opportunity to 10,000 unemployed people to gain valuable experience and join the labor market, but also to companies to strengthen their staff. With a 100% subsidy, it is an attractive program that gives a strong incentive to hire the unemployed. "We continue to invest in active employment policies, especially for groups facing significant barriers, such as the young unemployed."
